For patients experiencing significant bone loss in the upper jaw, zygomatic implants offer an alternative to bone grafting. These implants anchor into the cheekbone (zygoma), allowing immediate placement of a non-removable dental appliance. Because the procedure does not require bone grafts, the overall treatment and healing time is significantly reduced.

During surgery, we place long implants into the zygomatic bone, often along with two to four traditional implants in the front of the upper jaw. If extractions are needed, they can typically be completed during the same procedure.
